Benson is a ginger cat, with a bushy tail, and big green luminous eyes. His ears go backwards and forwards and he wriggles his whiskers. Benson lives in the workshop and has a nice cosy bed to sleep in. He also has a secret…… Benson can talk!
A gentle man, who had rosy cheeks, grey eyes that twinkled behind glasses and an ever ready smile playing around his face. Mr Elvic’s mop of white hair was covered by a blue bobble hat (whose bobble had fallen off), which matched his blue overalls. He owns the workshop on Cinder Lane and loves tinkering with machines and can mend anything that needs mending.
Dowter is a big black dog with curly untidy fur. He has huge paws that pound along the pavement, and large floppy ears that flap up and down like eagle wings. He is always escaping from Mrs Mawks his owner.
Mouse has soft grey fur, tiny black shiny eyes and whiskers that twitch. He lives with his mouse family in the Rain Star Palace.
Spider is big black and hairy with eight wriggling legs and beady eyes that don’t miss anything. He lives in a large silver web hanging from the roof of the Rain Star Palace, and likes to swing down and frighten anyone.
Bubble lives with Squeak and Zimba on the streets, as they have no warm homes of their own to go to. They usually sleep in the old armchair in the yard of the furniture shop on Cinder Lane.
Bubble always looks a little sad. He has untidy brown fur with a bushy tail. Sometimes he can be unkind to Benson.
