Most Saturdays during the football season you
will find us sitting behind the goal in the Pontoon Stand at Grimsby Town Football
Club, or tearing up and down the country supporting our lads in the black and
white stripes! By us, I mean, Richard and me, brother Roy, nieces Becky and
Charlotte and Mum who is in her eighties!
Early June sees Richard and me off on our annual
holiday – usually to the beautiful Isle of Mull off the west coast of Scotland.
We spend our time relaxing and watching for the wonderful wildlife that can be
seen there. It is so peaceful and a world away from the hustle and bustle
of a busier life.
Tobermory, Isle of Mull
Later in the year we have a short break with
Mum in Seahouses in Northumberland – another favourite haunt of ours. We
love the coast line there, especially the mystical Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and sitting in the pub at the tiny village of Craster eating
crab sandwiches and smelling the aroma from the smoke-house across the road.
Back at Fotherby I am busy visiting schools
and libraries – telling the story of Benson and the Wishing Machine, talking
about being an author and answering endless questions.
The Click'em Inn
A short drive away from home you will find
Richard and me relaxing in the evenings in our favourite hostelry. The Click’em
Inn sits proudly on its own in the Lincolnshire Wolds, and is visited by
folk from far and wide. It has its own unique atmosphere, friendly clientele,
great food, good beer and amazing bar staff – the perfect place to be after a
busy day.
